1. AI platform, ABEJA (Season 1) raises series C extension round from Google
ABEJA, the company offering solutions for retail stores to improve customer path or traffic based on image analysis and machine learning technologies, announced that it has secured funding from Google in a series C extension round. The company says this brings their total equity funding to date to over 6 billion yen (approximately US$53 million US).
2. AI video analytics, Future Standard (Season 7) launched traffic census service, SCORER Traffic Counter
Scorer Traffic Counter enables to measure traffic of cars or people easily on web site handling video of crossings and streets uploaded on AI video analytics cloud, SCORER Cloud. Using SenseVideo, algorithm provided by SenseTime, which has strong technology in image analysis with deep learning, it realizes high level of measurement accuracy for detection and tracking of cars and people.
3. Liquid (Season 5) starts offering LIQUID eKYC, online KYC service
LIQUID eKYC enables to complete identity verification online. When opening account online, users had to send a copy of identification and to receive postal mail at home in the past. A new regulation became effective on November 30th to allow to send image of identification and face online for KYC, which improves convenience for users. In addition, it enables to prevent abuse in transactions after creating an account by matching face image with the one sent when creating the account.
